Description

  

General Description:

The Business Development Manager is primarily responsible for reaching sales targets and creating strong relationships with current/potential customers. There is an emphasis on new leads as well as industry-related expertise for this role. This position will report directly to the company's COO.

Primary Activities

  • Identify potential clients in the target market and complete appropriate research on the client's business needs
  • Regularly cold call for new prospects
  • Develop relationships with prospective clients, while maintaining existing client relationships
  • Negotiate prices, terms of sales, and/or service agreements
  • Be the primary point of contact for customers with regards to overall account management
  • Periodically prepare and report results, status of accounts, and leads to manager
  • Complete the expected number of customer appointments, follow-ups and leads weekly 
  • Meet sales targets consistently
  • Become a subject matter expert on our business products, processes, and operations, and remain up to date on industry news
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

  

Technical Competencies:

  • Sales experience of 4+ years is preferred
  • Transportation experience of 2+ years is preferred
  • Must have experience in cold calling 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Must be able to learn company software systems
  • Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites

Working Environment & Physical Requirements:

This position requires consistent sitting, walking, standing, reading, listening, speaking, interpreting data and information, operating general office equipment, typing on a keyboard, and looking at a computer screen for long periods of time. The working environment consists of an indoor and climate-controlled setting.
